Hi Pretty World!
How rad is this cardboard bicycle???
I watched a video on it a few months ago on wimp
and my mind was totally boggled. seriously.
It's so simple yet so innovative, it's genius!
I love the sustainable aspect of this project as well.
The bike, including the saddle and handlebars, are made
of recycled cardboard.
Izhar Gafni is a cycling enthusiast and mass production
of his sustainable bikes will begin in a few months!
I totally want to get a hold of one of these babies :)
And it's totally affordable at 20 bucks a pop! (say what??)
He experimented with different folding techniques for well over a year
to perfect his latest prototype.
The bikes are waterproof and fireproof so it's
perfect for the dangers of angry taxi cabs, the horizontal rain storms,
and the fearless masses of jaywalkers that stomp
through the streets of New York City on a daily basis :)
The final production will not contain any metal products and
weighs only 20 pounds.
Because the bike is constructed from recycled parts,
if the bike is damaged or broken, you can send it back to the factory
you can read the full article here :)
I want one of my own....asap...in yellow :)
This is the sturdy cardboard used for the bikes.
Not sure how comfy your tush will be sitting
on a cardboard seat but nothing
that a little cushion won't fix :)
The man behind the genius, up-cycled invention :)
Have a Lovely weekend, world!
